Whale watching season on the US East Coast runs from May to November. In May and April, cetaceans leave the Caribbean to return to their feeding grounds near the Arctic, passing the coast of New York. The whales then move throughout the summer between Greenland and New England, searching for food. In October and November, the mammals move south to the warm waters of the Caribbean where they spend the winter.
