NEW YORK — Drivers and residents in our area encountered a heavy layer of fog Wednesday morning that reduced visibility for at least ¼ mile, the Weather Authority said.
A dense fog warning was issued in parts of the region until 11:00 a.m. Additionally, some rain was also seen during the morning that will continue into the early hours of Thursday morning.
So far we only have a coastal flood warning for parts of the southern shore of Queens and Long Island in effect for Thursday morning with the possibility of minor flooding at high tide.
A more widespread flood watch could also be issued if models increase the amount of rainfall expected later in the day. After this rain, the next chance of rain will be for Friday into Saturday morning with a forecast for dry and cold December 31st.
