New York finished 4th in the East
The Celtics, already sure to finish 7th in the conference, voluntarily went to New York on Sunday without Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, Tristan Thompson, Robert Williams or even the Frenchman Evan Fournier. Difficult in these conditions to deprive the Knicks of winning their 41st victory of the season (96-92) and thus validate the 4th final place. The replacements for the C’s, however, did better than resist. Until the end, Grant Williams (13 points) and the other holders of a night on the Boston side jostled the New Yorkers, who owed their salvation only to the talent of their four strong men: RJ Barrett (22 points) , Alec Burks (17), Reggi Bullock (16) and the inevitable Julius Randle, still very valuable (20 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists). The Knicks, no longer at such a party since 2013, will face Atlanta in the play-offs, certain to finish fifth.

Phoenix puts pressure on Utah
Phoenix, like Utah, will also defend their chances in the play-offs. However, while awaiting the result of the Jazz on the Sacramento floor in one of the games scheduled later that night during this final regular season session, the Suns put pressure on the leader of the Western Conference by winning (123-121) on the floor of San Antonio and DeMar DeRozan’s Spurs (23 points). In case of defeat of Rudy Gobert and his teammates against the Kings, it is indeed the men of Arizona, saved on a three-point basket of E’Twaun Moore (22 points) four seconds from the buzzer, who would take first place on the wire from their rival. An unimaginable scenario at the end of the second quarter, which had seen Phoenix drink the cup on the Texas floor (38-25). Not enough to cool the dolphin of Jazz for all that. And after having completely rectified the shooting in the third quarter (37-24), the Suns again dominated in the final period these Spurs already sure to finish 10th (they will move to Memphis in play-in), with therefore this basket of the win, registered by Moore in the very last moments while San Antonio led by one point. An XXL shoot that could prove to be synonymous with first place.
E’Twaun Moore WINS IT for the @Suns to keep them alive for the #1 seed out West!
