After days of artificial respiration after a heart attack, US rapper DMX died at the age of 50. The musician was pronounced dead on Friday in a clinic north of New York, his family said.
We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, née Earl Simmons, has passed away at White Plains Hospital at the age of 50 with his family by his side, according to a statement published by several US Media reported unanimously.
DMX was rushed to hospital in early April after a heart attack and has been artificially kept alive in the intensive care unit ever since. Information on the reason for the attack was initially not made public. The rapper became famous in the 1990s with hits like Party Up and Get At Me Dog.
