NEW YORK – Two people were killed and a third seriously injured in a Saturday night shooting in Manhattan, New York.
The attack took place around 7:50 p.m. in East Harlem, a neighborhood in Manhattan, “New York Post” reported, citing law enforcement sources.
Witnesses said they heard between four and six shots that put the entire neighborhood on alert.
CCTV footage from a grocery store shows an armed man opening fire in a street corner at a group of some six people, before fleeing.
The victims, two men aged 40 and 41, were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead, according to local media.
A third victim, a 38-year-old man, was in critical condition when she was transferred to hospital.
Police opened an investigation.
Separately, in Brooklyn, at almost the same time, a 31-year-old was shot in the head, according to the police statement reported by local media.
