Hello everyone. In anticipation of a trip to NY from February 10 to 17, I would like to submit a draft schedule to you and get your opinions. There will be three of us, my wife, me, and our eight-year-old son. The purpose of the trip: to see NY again (already seen in 2019), and to take our son, a basketball player and fan, to see two NBA games. A dream for him in short. More specifically we would also like to discover Street Art, and… enjoy the city despite the predictable cold, this time favoring Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan.
So: Arrival on Saturday 10 at 1:30 p.m. at JFK. Yellow taxi to Even Hotel in Brooklyn, and in the excitement of the trip, NBA match at the Barclay center at 6 p.m. hoping that everything goes well (I know, it’s a bit risky in terms of schedules and fatigue but we’re giving it a try cut). Hotel and tickets already booked.
Sunday 11: Street Art in Bushwick in the morning. Afternoon/evening: Williamsburg? Museum if bad weather?
Monday 12: transfer to the 1 Brooklyn Bridge hotel, we leave the suitcases, and, if time permits, cross Brooklyn Bridge, then direction Summit, MoMa (my son likes Kandinsky and Paul Klee thanks to his mistress, let’s take advantage of it), Wollman rink ice rink (if we have time), Roosevelt Island tramway, return to hotel 1 by ferry. Dinner and sleep.
Tuesday 13: Discovery of Dumbo and Brooklyn eights on foot. 7:30 p.m. NBA match at the Barclay center. So deliberately not too busy a day.
Wednesday 13: Transfer to the 50 Bowery hotel, and for three days our “essentials” are: statue of liberty (in the morning), ESB at sunset (if there is sunshine, and well covered), and discovery of LES and East village especially for Street Art.
Saturday: I want to keep free to improvise or redo something. Departure in the afternoon for JFK.
What we’ve already seen and don’t think we’ll do again: High Line, Time Square, TOR, Chelsea Market, Museum of Natural History, OWO.
I’m starting to work on plan Bs in case of disastrous weather, any advice welcome.
Thank you to those who take a little time to read my message, and for their advice on this start of planning. Best regards. L.
