The New York Tribeca Film Festival kicks off its 20th anniversary edition this year with the world premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In The Heights”.
The musical film is about the residents of Washington Heights – a district of Manhattan where Miranda grew up. As the Tribeca organizers announced, the film will be shown in a large theater in that neighborhood. At the same time, it is to be shown in numerous locations in the metropolis under the open sky.
“In The Heights” was Miranda’s first Broadway musical, which received multiple awards for it. The Tribeca film festival will take place this year from June 9th to 20th, shortly afterwards “In The Heights” will also hit German cinemas.
