New York to be hit with a wintry mix on Monday as warm temperatures approach – EzAnime.net

A muddy Monday awaits New Yorkers when a wintry mix hits the city, but warmer, more pleasant weather should round out the week, offering at least a temporary respite, forecasters said Sunday.

A storm system is expected to start building up in the districts around lunchtime Monday.

“By the time I get to town around noon tomorrow, we’ll see a mix of rain and snow,” Accuweather chief meteorologist Jake Sojda told The Post on Sunday.

“There is a possibility that it might even arrive as total rain, but we are thinking that when it gets there in the first two or three hours, it will probably mix with some snow before it changes to rain later in the afternoon,” he said.

The system is expected to bring only snow to the suburbs to the north and west of I-287, where several inches of accumulation are forecast.

But the much higher-than-average amount of snow that has accumulated on city streets and parks throughout the month should soon disappear, forecasters said.

“There is a good chance that most, if not all of the snow is gone after the rain comes tomorrow afternoon,” Sojda said. “We are seeing temperatures below 40 degrees Celsius. It will not rain much, but it will be a deep rain.

“If it doesn’t go away with the next storm, it will be shortly after Tuesday night.”

Later in the week, sunlight and rising mercury will give New Yorkers a preview of spring, the expert said.

Wednesday seems the warmest day. Some parts of the city could touch 50 degrees, “said Sojda.

But temperatures are expected to return to 30 degrees Celsius by Friday, with another chance of snow early next week, forecasters said.
