New York Times takes action against Trump: “He threatens democracy”

“Vote to end the Trump era, he tried to overturn an election and remains a threat to democracy.” Three days before election day, the New York Times, which gave its formal endorsement to Kamala Harris in September, launches a concise and heartfelt appeal to vote against the former president.

“He helped overturn Roe, with terrible consequences – continues the blurb from the Times editorial board referring to the ruling that guaranteed the constitutional right to abortion – Trump’s corruption and lack of legality go beyond the election: it is his entire ethos, mind without limits”.

“If re-elected, the Republicans will not control him, Trump will use the power of the government to prosecute his opponents, he will carry out a cruel policy of mass deportations – continues the Times in the appeal to the vote – he will create havoc for the poor, the middle class and employers. Another Trump term will damage the climate, destroy alliances and strengthen autocrats. Americans must demand better, go vote.”
