Erica Lopez was playing with friends in one of the rooftop bars in a Manhattan skyscraper. There they met a group of six people who joined the party. Initially, everyone got along great. Suddenly the party was interrupted by an unpleasant incident. One of the women touched the 19-year-old’s buttocks without her consent. She also tried to grope her friend. Ericy’s boyfriend – 21-year-old Andres Arias stood up for her and drew the attention of the insistent girl. A quarrel arose between groups of party people. After Eric’s quarrel, her boyfriend and friends left the party. Then they realized that someone was following them.
Two cars followed them. One of the drivers asked if they had a problem. Suddenly, from the second car, a man leaned out, reached for his weapon and fired a shot at the 19-year-old. Andres and Erica were hospitalized. The bullet just brushed the 21-year-old’s ribs, the injuries turned out to be harmless. The girl could not be saved.
In an interview with journalists, Andres confessed that he had survived a miracle. In his opinion Erica saved his life by pushing him aside. “Erica was a wonderful woman. She triggered good in me, and a smile never left her face,” recalls a desperate boy.
