New York: the narrowest skyscraper in the world is finished! | News from Mexico

NEW YORK, EU.- The designers behind the thinnest skyscraper in the world They just gave fans an ultra-luxurious early Christmas present.

New York design studioSofield studio, revealed the interior of the Steinway Towerthe innovative 435-meter-high tower, with a direct view of Central Park.

The new skyscraper, known as ‘111 West 57th Street’, contains 46 full floors and duplex residences.

The designers shared photos this month, highlighting the opulent foyers decorated with limestone, marble, black steel and velvet.plus dark gray oak flagstone floors and original artwork by Picasso and Matisse.

According to the firm Studio Sofield, The interiors of Steinway Tower were designed to evoke the grandeur of New York’s Golden Age during the late 19th century, when around the avenues were the mansions corresponding to robber barons, such as Andrew Carnegie and Cornelius Vanderbilt. IS it is located on downtown streetfilled with glittering towers, which is now known as ‘Billionaire’s Row.

William Sofield, founder of Studio Sofield, revealed this to CNN his desire was to make the tower feel unmistakably like New York.

We’ve all been to imaginative places, but my intention was to create a building that couldn’t be anywhere else in the world. I know many people who have multiple houses will have apartments here. And I wanted to create a very different experience that could only happen in New York.”

Inside the building there is a 25 meter swimming poolwithin a light filled room complete with floor to ceiling windows.

Also, the setting of one of the rooms is inspired by the legendary New York Bar, ‘King Cole Bar’where there is an ornamental balcony next to silver and gold murals.

Also includes dining rooms with a spectacular kitchen that offers catering service with chef includedplus a golf simulator and terrace.

I always like to personalize my work. For example, the pool… I didn’t want it to look like a regular pool, so it was done with wood paneling and gold detailing. It also has a vaulted ceiling, which makes it a very typical New York pool.”

Steinway Tower It has been described by its designers as “the thinnest skyscraper in the world.

At 1,428 feet long, it’s one of the tallest buildings in the Western Hemisphere, and it just remains lower than two other buildings in New York: One World Trade Center -541 meters long- and Central Park Tower -472 meters high-.
