A 17-year-old Bronx mother has been charged with the murder of her newborn son – whom she threw out a window in October, authorities say.
The teenager threw her day-old child out the window of her fifth-floor apartment on East 158th Street on October 24, police said.
Police were first called to Lincoln Medical Center around 3pm when the teenager told them she had already given birth at her apartment.
Authorities searched the area and found the baby unconscious and unresponsive inside a flower bed, cops said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
His death was ruled a homicide by the city medical examiner’s office.
The young mother, whose name has not been released, was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder and manslaughter, cops said.
