New York surpasses its previous record of infections

MADRID. The state of New York has clearly exceeded the daily record for new coronavirus infections with 85,476 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, 9,000 more than on Friday and well above the 6,700 infections on average.

New York City continues to lead the data by infection rate, with an average of 419 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, according to data from Bloomberg and Johns Hopkins University.

Hospital admissions also continue to rise with 532 more patients than the previous day, to 8,451. The positive rate, however, has fallen slightly to 22.24 percent. In addition, 88 deaths have been recorded.
