The New York Stock Exchange opened small on Tuesday with the S&P 500 at an all-time high, as investors weighed in on recovery optimism and uncertainties about inflation and its consequences for the monetary policy of the Fed.
A few minutes after opening, the Dow Jones Index was stable at 34,626.43 points (-0.01%). The S&P 500 extended index was up 0.15% to hit its May 7 high of 4,232.86 points. The high-tech Nasdaq was up 0.49% at 13,950.54 points.
