The 18,000-pound Norway spruce that will light up New York’s financial center this evening was delivered this morning by an electric truck from the Texan company ilium.
It will be 99And edition of the event, the first of which dates back to 1923. The tree will remain in place throughout the Christmas period.
The approximately 80-foot-tall Spruce was transported from West Nyack, New York to Experience Square at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) by an electrically propelled ERX model Hypertruck whose operating range can be extended by a natural on board gas generator.
“This holiday season, Hyliion is pleased to continue our partnership with the New York Stock Exchange by being a part of this long and honorable tradition and bringing a little holiday magic to Experience Square,” said Hyliion President and CEO, Thomas Healy, who incidentally drove the delivery truck himself.
“We were thrilled to see Thomas Healy arrive at 11 Wall Street and personally deliver this year’s NYSE Christmas tree by electric truck, underlining Hyliion’s commitment to building a sustainable future,” he commented. Lynn Martin, President of the New York Stock Exchange.
