« Supreme Court decisions are setbacks, but temporary setbacks. Because I refuse to be stripped of my right as Governor of New York to protect our people from gun violence. We won’t be back. Long list of forbidden places
The new New York law thus prohibits the carrying of weapons in means of transport, schools, centers for the homeless, health places, bars, restaurants, Times Square… The list is still long. If they wish, businesses or private companies will also have the right to deny access to a gun bearer.
These measures are only the first in a series of laws planned by New York in retaliation after the latest shock decisions of the Supreme Court. In particular, the democratic state should include in its constitution the protection of minority rights.
