New York: Glendalough is Irish Distillery of the Year
If you can make it there, you’ll make it anywhere
The Glendalough Distillery impresses at this year’s New York Spirits Competition. Two whiskeys from the Irish distillery were awarded double gold, a gin with the gold medal.
On the one hand, the double gold medal went to Glendalough’s classic, Double Barrel Single Grain Whiskey. On the other hand, a new bottling also received this award, the 7-year-old single malt with Mizunara Cask Finish, which was only introduced this year and has already received a double gold award in San Francisco. In addition to the excellent whiskey ratings, Glendalough Rose Gin also convinced the jury and received a gold medal.

This rain of gold is crowned with the title “Irish Distillery of the Year”, which the spirits experts have awarded to the Glendalough Distillery. A real reason to celebrate for the distillery in the Wicklow Mountains.

The annual New York International Spirits Competition has been held in the metropolis since 2010. The jury of spirits experts judges the submitted bottlings in a blind tasting. In 2022, over 1400 spirits from 39 countries took part in the renowned tasting.
A double gold award must be unanimous from all jury members and is therefore all the more valuable. The competition itself refers to the Double Gold winners as a “Phenomenal Product”.
Congratulations to Glendalough on this phenomenal success in New York and we look forward to more great news from the Irish Distillery of the Year.
