Six Black Lives Matter protesters were arrested Saturday night in New York City in clashes with police.
Protesters first set out on a march chanting anti-racist slogans from the Bronx to Manhattan forcing the halt to car traffic on the George Washington Bridge, the New York Post reported on Sunday.
It took the intervention of the police to disperse the demonstrators who then turned back around 8 p.m. to converge on the 34th arrondissement.
Videos posted on social media showed tense scenes when police officers stopped protesters, some of whom were pushed to the ground.
The protests against racism and police brutality put the BLM movement in a state of continuous mobilization, since the death of George Floyd last May.
