The «Resorts World Casino», out in the New York borough of Queens, offers gamblers just about everything. They stroll from one slot machine to the next across a gray and yellow carpet, unrolled between columns decorated with gold. At tables behind it, players can lay their cards for blackjack. And yet the complex in the east of the cosmopolitan city is not a real casino. Because real croupiers look for guests in vain. Instead, they stare at a screen – and wait for a computer to shuffle the cards. Anything else would simply not be allowed.
