New York – Security Council extends UN mission in Afghanistan

The United Nations Security Council in New York has extended the mandate of the UN mission in Afghanistan.

The panel unanimously adopted the resolution introduced by Estonia and Norway. This extends the mission of the Afghanistan mission by six months until March 17, 2022. The mission’s tasks include monitoring the human rights situation in the country.
