Due to his ‘misleading statements’ in the aftermath of the US presidential election, Rudy Giuliani is no longer allowed to practice as a lawyer in New York state.

The New York Supreme Court ruled on Thursday over the fate of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani. The court says it has “demonstrable evidence” that Giuliani “in his capacity as a lawyer committed demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts and the public”.

Giuliani, 77, acted as a lawyer for former President Donald Trump and was one of his closest supporters to the bitter end. At the now infamous “Save America” rally in Washington on January 6, he addressed Trump supporters before storming the Capitol.

“This was the worst election in American history,” Giuliani said at the time. ‘She was stolen. That’s why we must take revenge, to save our republic.’ He kept claiming high and low and without any evidence that Trump was the rightful winner of the election. Giuliani talked about massive fraud with voting machines in Georgia, among other things. The voting machine company Dominion Voting Systems is demanding $1.3 billion in damages.
