New York Red Bulls thrashed Toronto FC at home in MLS

Toronto FC had a disastrous presentation at home, as they fell 1-4 against New York Red Bulls, which, contrary to the Canadian team, began the 2022 MLS season very hooked. The visitors had their best player in Lewis Morgan, who scored three goals in the first half so that his team could add three more points.

The previous one was very emotional with a tribute to the Ukrainian people and with the intonation of the national anthems of Canada and the United States for the first time at BMO Field within the current campaign. However, very early on the New York RB got ahead on the scoreboard. At minute 17, Lewis Morgan shot with first intention inside the area and put the ball in an unattainable place for goalkeeper Alex Bono.

At minute 24, the New York team took advantage of the fact that Toronto FC’s defense was in a bad position and Lewis Morgan took advantage Klimala’s assistance to once again shoot from first intention, although this time I was right, the 0-2 was already in the light.

Shield/Flag New York Red Bulls

The locals tried to respond from the hand of Jesús Jiménez, who scored his first goal of the season in an individual flag action, where he left rivals behind only with waist movements inside the area. The Spaniard took off the goalkeeper and fired into the center despite two defenders trying to block the ball.

The taste was short-lived for Toronto FC. Lewis Morgan scored his hat-trick in the 40th minute, moment in which he took advantage of the misfortune of the ‘Reds’ in a corner kick. The Red Bulls wove a perfect counterattack, Kimala gave his third assist of the day and the Scottish Morgan reached the goal alone to beat Bono once again. At minute 42 came the final nail, Aaron Long finished off with a header after a free kick and sentenced the game.

Salcedo was the starter

Mexican Carlos Salcedo appeared in front of his new fansjumped onto the pitch at BMO Field as a starter and was booked. The ‘Titan’ played 80 minutes and there was little he could do to prevent the defeat of his team.
