New York Red Bulls lost the New York Derby against New York City FC and Adrián Martínez scored a double | Other Soccer Leagues

Adrián Martínez contributed two goals in NYCFC’s spectacular 5-1 victory against the NY Red Bulls, for week 28 of the United States – MLS 2024. The goal of the game for the local team was scored by Dante Vanzeir (27′ 1L). While the away goals were scored by Maximiliano Moralez (5′ 1T), Adrián Martínez (7′ 1T and 50′ 1T), Andrés Perea (30′ 1T) and Tayvon Gray (22′ 2T).

Dante Vanzeir won the applause with his brilliant finish 27 minutes into the first half. The forward took the ball from the right wing, finished with a tremendous shot from the large area and the ball managed to enter the goalkeeper’s left post.

Adrián Martínez was close to increasing the difference in the 10th minute of the first half, but his shot hit one of the posts.

Tayvon Gray’s performance positioned him as the most outstanding player of the match. The New York City FC defender was important for scoring 1 goal and taking 2 balls out of the danger area.

Another player who had a great game was Adrián Martínez. The New York City FC attacker shone by scoring 2 goals and kicking 4 times.

NY Red Bulls coach Sandro Schwarz presented a 4-4-2 tactical layout with Carlos Coronel in goal; Dylan Nealis, Andrés Reyes, Noah Eile and John Tolkin on the defensive line; Dennis Gjengaar, Felipe Carballo, Daniel Edelman and Cameron Harper in the middle; and Dante Vanzeir and Lewis Morgan in attack.

For its part, Nick Cushing’s team came out with a 4-3-3 tactical layout with Matthew Freese between the three sticks; Tayvon Gray, Thiago Martins, Justin Haak and Kevin O Toole in defense; Keaton Parks, James Sands and Andrés Perea in the midfield; and Hannes Wolf, Adrián Martínez and Maximiliano Moralez up front.

Mary Penso was the referee chosen for the match at the Red Bull Arena stadium.

On the next date, NY Red Bulls will visit Toronto FC and NYCFC will play at home against FC Cincinnati.
