The US state of New York has registered the first cases of the Omikron variant of the coronavirus.
“New York State has confirmed five cases of the Omicron variant,” said Governor Kathy Hochul on Thursday (local time) on Twitter. Other cases have been reported from Los Angeles and Hawaii. That brought the total number of confirmed cases in the United States to ten.
The case in Hawaii appears to be local broadcasts with no relation to foreign travel. It was a local infection, said the health authorities of the US state. The person concerned did not travel. Minnesota had previously also reported a case in which a local infection is assumed.
Biden wants to tighten entry rules
