New York once again broke its record in terms of attendance. After 62.8 million visitors in 2017, New York welcomed 65.2 million visitors in 2018, an increase of almost 4% compared to 2017.
New York thus recorded its 9th consecutive year of growth. Enough to allow New York to further strengthen its status as the most visited city in the United States, clearly ahead of Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
More and more Chinese tourists in New York
The vast majority of visitors come from the United States, but the number of international visitors is also on the rise. In the ranking of international visitors, the United Kingdom retains its first place, with 1.2 million visitors in 2018. China continues to gain momentum and takes second place, with 1.1 million visitors, ahead of Canada, which remains stable at 1 million visitors. The number of French, Belgians and Swiss has not yet been communicated.
In any case New York intends to beat its new record this year: forecasts count on 67 million visitors in 2019… There will be a lot of people in New York this year!
