Anthony DeAngelo’s career with the New York Rangers should already be over after only 167 games. The offensive defender was put on the “waiver” yesterday.
DeAngelo signed a $ 9.6 million contract extension over two years last October. In the last season, the American showed a strong 15 goals and 53 points – as a defender.
DeAngelo had to watch from the stands before the game against Pittsburgh, which he finished with a -3, due to poor performance. After the 4-5 overtime defeat against the Penguins, there should have been a physical argument between DeAngelo and Rangers netminder Alexandar Georgiyev. Another crack is said to have been involved.
DeAngelo then landed on the “waiver” and was therefore available for every team. The deadline by which a team could have secured the services of the Arizona Coyotes-1st Round Draft Picks passed today at 6 p.m. CET. Thus DeAngelo is still in the organization of the Rangers, but one can assume that he has already completed his last game in the dress of the “blueshirts”.
