A few days after the end of his long time with the New York Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist’s sporting future is clear. The 38-year-old will also be on the ice in the coming season in the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Washington Capitals provide the 38-year-old with a one-year contract. This is endowed with 1.5 million US dollars (around 1.27 million euros). Further information on his contract is not known.

Henrik Lundqvist has been on the ice for the New York Rangers since the 2005/06 season. In 16 (!) Seasons, the Swede made 1017 games (including play-offs).
