The Detroit Red Wings lost unhappily to the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, and for other Germans it was a rather slow start after the All-Star break

The New York Rangers celebrated their third straight win against the Vancouver Canucks. FIlip Chytil was once again in good form and scored in the fifth game in a row. K’Andre Miller recorded three assists for the Blueshirts, for whom Mika Zibanejad deflected an untenable shot from Jacob Trouba four minutes from time to put the hosts 4-2 up. But just eleven seconds later, Elias Petterson brought the guests from Canada’s Pacific Coast back on track. But the Canucks couldn’t force the equalizer.

Anthony Beaivillier made his debut for the Canadians – a good ten days after his trade from city rivals the New York Islanders to the Canucks. He returns to his old job tomorrow, where he spent the first seven years of his NHL career. Then there is also a reunion with Bo Horvat, who switched to the Islanders as part of the deal from Vancouver and is now meeting his old team for the first time.

In the other game of the night, the Dallas Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-1. The Texans scored their 14th empty net goal this season – a league high! Stars forward Jamie Benn scored 20 goals for the tenth time in a season after 23 seconds in the second period to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. He is the third player in the history of the Dallas Stars and Minnesota North Stars, after Mike Modano (16) and Brian Bellows (10), to have at least 10 seasons with 20 goals.

The night before, the Dteroit Red Wings lost unhappily on their own ice to the Edmonton OIlers. Tyler Bertuzzi put the Red Wings ahead after a good ten minutes. The goal was initiated by a well-considered action by Moritz Seider, who calmly controlled the disc and then played it to Dylan Larkin, who was credited with the second assist. Then the hosts were unlucky: First, Robby Fabbri didn’t hit the puck properly with a dust collector, so that it only rolled against the post, shortly afterwards Seider also nailed the puck as a rod when he aimed a little too accurately with his wrist shot from a central position . With a double from Ryan McLeod and Warren Foegele, the OIlers turned the game in just 36 seconds early in the middle section. Foegele extended the lead for the Canadians before Joe Veleno reduced the lead to 2:3 for the Red Wings in the final seconds before the second siren. He used a precise pass from Moritz Seider, who scored his 22nd assist.

In the final third, the Oilers showed their class with a power play goal and a shorthanded goal and made everything clear in just two minutes. Leon Draisaitl didn’t have any points and ended up with a value of -2, Connor McDavid only managed one pass.

Nico Sturm was also without points in the 4-3 win after his San Jose Sharks overtime at the runner-up Tampa Bay Lightning. The decisive goal for the Californians was scored by the Swiss Timo Meier, who reached the mark of 30 season goals for the second time in a row and for the third time in his career.

Philipp Grubauer was not used in the 4-0 defeat of his Seattle Kraken at the New York Islanders.

The other results of the night before last at a glance:

Nashville Predators – Vegas Golden Knights 1:5
Chicago Blackhawks – Anaheim Ducks 2:3 (OT)
