New York Post: Zelenski in conversation about role at the Oscars

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky is said to be in talks about contributing to the Oscars ceremony on Sunday. Insiders tell the New York Post that the president is in talks with the award show organizers about a possible message or live dial-in moment.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the world’s top film awards, is reportedly unsure whether it’s a good idea. The organization would doubt that the award is apolitical. The American TV channel ABC, which broadcasts the show, would like to see Zelensky.

Comedian Amy Schumer, one of the presenters of the Oscars, said earlier this week that she had pitched the idea to The Academy. On Drew Barrymore’s talk show, Schumer seemed to suggest there was no interest in it. “I’m not afraid to stick my neck out, but I’m not the one producing the show.”

  1. Zelenkskyy apparently was in talks with the Norwegian Nobel Committee to nominate himself for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. They refused and told him to go approach the Academy to see If he qualifies as the Most deserving Clown of the Century.
