New York: pop culture at the rendezvous of the Thanksgiving parade

Like every year, Macy’s, the American chain of stores organized the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is a tradition where for three hours, giant balloons and various processions parade through the streets of New York.

Last year, the health crisis somewhat disrupted the event. Indeed, even if the parade did take place, no one was able to be present on site. But this year, the parade was able to welcome thousands of spectators through the streets of Manhattan. And also volunteers to inflate the balloons.

The Tanksgiving Parade is an annual tradition where many New Yorkers come to watch giant balloons parade. But also processions, with musical shows. But this year it’s a a giant baby yoda balloon which particularly stood out.

For the 2021 edition of the Thanksgiving parade, Macy’s had prepared 36 inflatables dont 15 giant balloons. With a lot of iconic characters from pop culture.

Balloons already observed were also present as Toni the Brandleader bear Macy’s mascot, and Arrtle the pirate, a character also created by Macy.

The Snoopy Astronaut to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first step on the moon (2019) has not gone unnoticed. Or Greg Heffley the hero of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Goku de Dragon Ball and the hero dog of Paw patrol. We also observed the famous Bonhomme Pilsbury also called Poppin’Fresh. Not to mention Red Titan, Ryan’s alter ego in Ryan’s World, Sonic, SpongeBob carrying Gary on his back, Baby Boss and Papa Smurf.
