With a 5.4 percent difference in votes, Democrat Kathy Hochul made history by becoming the first woman elected to the New York state governorate.

Hochul’s campaign focused on protecting abortion. His rival Lee Zeldin, who aimed to reduce crime, did not recognize the victory of the Democrats.

Senate Democratic Majority Leader Charles Schumer retained his seat and became the first New Yorker to be re-elected for the fifth time. Leticia James reiterated as Attorney General and ratified her willingness to investigate former President Donald Trump’s companies.

Four bids in the House of Representatives to be highlighted in the state were left in the hands of the Republicans. District 17 which Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney lost to Mike Lawler; the vacancy left by the Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado was won by the Republican Marcus Molinario defeating Josh Riley, the seat left by the Democrat Max Della Pia not running for re-election and occupied by the Republican Nick Langworthy and the defeat of Laura Gillen against the Republican Anthony
