In the New York borough of Manhattan, the police killed an attacker in a gun battle.
According to her, the perpetrator had shot around in front of the entrance after a Christmas concert in the cathedral Saint John the Divine when the visitors poured out. Police shot him. Bystanders were not injured. The police found a full gasoline can and several knives in the man’s pocket. The perpetrator is known to the police for several offenses; the motives for the attack are still unclear.
