NEW YORK – An off-duty NYPD sergeant has been arrested for allegedly opening fire inside or outside a Queens karaoke bar after an argument, authorities say.
Sergeant Raymond Wong, 45, faces two counts of battery in the case. Investigators say three people approached him at the karaoke bar on Monday and had a dispute.
It’s unclear what it was about, but it escalated and Wong allegedly fired as the discussion spread outside the bar, authorities said.
It is not known how many shots were fired, if Wong allegedly used his service weapon or if he knew the three people before the fight at the bar.
Fortunately no one was hit by gunfire.
Information about a lawyer for Wong was not immediately available.
