LRoxham Road is a small crossing located on the US-Canadian border, between New York State and Quebec. It is by this route that thousands of Haitian and Latin American refugees have been entering Canada illegally for years. This border area, an irritant between Canada and the United States, is the subject of a scandal following an investigation by the New York Post. “Migrants abandon New York for Canada thanks to bus tickets financed by (American) taxpayers”, headlined the New York newspaper earlier this week. According to him, National Guard soldiers distributed bus tickets to migrants present in New York so that they can travel by bus to the city of Plattsburgh, located about thirty kilometers from Quebec. And that is the whole subtlety of the American strategy. If the authorities do pay for bus tickets to Plattsburgh, they can deny that these trips are to the fairly close Canadian border.
