The electric utility company in New York, National Grid, asked its users to be alert to the possibility of blackouts during the night of March 1 and the morning of March 2.
On its Twitter account, National Grid issued a brief statement for its clients in upstate New York where it makes recommendations for the approaching winds.
(…) We are increasing our field force, expanding evening and night shifts and closely monitoring the weather forecast that establishes wind gusts of up to 60 mph in parts of central and eastern New York
, the company reported.
National Grid crews are on alert for any storm.
We recommend keeping flashlights and extra batteries at home, and keeping mobile devices fully charged so you can stay connected in the event of a power outage.

For its part, the country’s climate service confirmed the arrival of a system that will generate cold winds on the country’s northeast coast.
