New York Museum of Modern Art honors George Clooney

“George Clooney’s enormous achievements as an actor, director and producer are only matched by his profound commitment as an activist for social justice and humanitarian aid around the world,” said Rajendra Roy, film curator at MoMA, according to the statement.

Oscar winner Clooney has become famous around the world with films like “Ocean’s Eleven” and “Monuments Men – Unusual Heroes”. Eight of his films have made it into MoMA’s collection of over 30,000 films. The gala on December 7th is due to take place online this time due to the coronavirus pandemic. In recent years, stars such as Cate Blanchett, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Quentin Tarantino, Pedro Almodóvar, Kathryn Bigelow, Tim Burton and Baz Luhrmann had been honored by MoMA.
