NEW YORK.─ Mets fans showed their joy on social media at the change in the time of their games to Saturdays for this season.

According to a team announcement, the Mets will open games at Citi Field on Saturdays at 1:40 pm ET or 4:10 pm ET.
“I love this. “I have small children and it was very difficult to be limited to just Sunday games,” one wrote.
The change was made as a direct result of a fan survey, which indicated that 90% of respondents were in favor of starting earlier to bring children, families or larger groups to ball games.
“Mr. Steve Cohen is for the people,” said a second, referring to the franchise owner.
After having many games on Saturday nights in recent seasons, the Mets announced a big change for 2024.
The Mets will have five Saturday games at Citi Field this season starting at 1:40 p.m., including their opening series on March 30 against David Stearns’ former club, the Milwaukee Brewers, and a clash on March 11. May against the Atlanta Braves.
Between June 1 and September 1. On the 21st, New York has eight times at 4:10 pm
Saturday’s home games, including the afternoon of Darryl Strawberry’s No. 18 jersey retirement on June 1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks and a July 27 meeting with the Braves where the team will hand out replica Mercury Mets jerseys from Mike Piazza to the first 15,000 fans.
