NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) – New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Monday that efforts would be made to ensure the safety of citizens on polling day – Nov. 3 – and beyond.
“We have deployed more than 500 volunteers to monitor polling stations, prevent any form of intimidation or harassment and strengthen our resources,” he said on Twitter.
“Whatever happens, Tuesday will have big consequences for our country for decades to come. But I trust New Yorkers to pull through. Whatever the challenges, we will show off. the height, “he added.
In a short video posted on Twitter Monday, the mayor reaffirmed the need to ensure a safe election. “We are in an unprecedented time. There are reasons for people to be worried. Last week, New York City Police Force was mobilized to patrol on Election Day, and various crime prevention volunteer groups were deployed to prevent any violence on Election Day.
On Nov. 3, officers will be deployed to monitor the city’s 1,201 polling stations, including 708 public schools and several new polling stations in Madison Square Garden, Manhattan’s Lincoln Center and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, according to the reports. New York Police Force.
