New York Mayor Eric Adams Highlights Economic and Cultural Ties on First Visit to Israel

Eric Adams has concluded his three-day trip to Israel, the first since being elected mayor of the ‘Big Apple’

New York Mayor Eric Adams was the star guest at the “White City Soiree” in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night. This event, co-organized by the groups Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), F2 Venture Capital and Ximus Forum, brought together influential Israeli leaders in the sectors of technology, business and finance.

Speaking on economic relations between New York and Tel Aviv, Adams praised Israel’s innovative spirit. He also urged the audience to draw inspiration from Israel’s history to address current challenges. “Your ancestors were the first entrepreneurs who believed in something. Don’t let their heritage die out. Israel is a ‘unicorn’ because of them,” he said.

Mr. Adams, who also visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum during his stay, addressed the global fight against anti-Semitism. “Visiting the Holocaust exhibit, I realized that behind every uniform there was a whole network of hatred. There was propaganda, attempts to rewrite history, and distorted depictions of the people Jewish,” he said.

“To eradicate anti-Semitism, we must attack the problem at the root and dismantle all the actors involved,” he added.

Other participants included Jonathan Saacks of F2 Venture Capital, Michal Raz of Carbyne and entrepreneur Guy Nizan. Sacha Roytman Dratwa, CEO of CAM, highlighted the importance of strong ties between New York and Tel Aviv, two global innovation centers.

The evening capped Adams’ three-day visit to Israel, the first since his election as mayor of New York, the largest Jewish city in the world.
