New York man buys two Mega Millions tickets and wins $1 million with each one – El Diario NY

In what many would consider an almost impossible chance, a resident of West Hempstead, New York, named Marco Accardo, not only won a million-dollar prize with a Mega Millions ticket, but won with two tickets.

According to the New York Lottery, Accardo cashed two second-prize Mega Millions tickets, each valued at $1 million.

The man won the prizes in the draw held on November 11, 2022.

Accardo had the same five winning numbers on two different tickets, but with two different Mega Balls numbers.

The player did not hit any Mega Ball, which prevented him from winning the coveted jackpot.

The possibility of winning the $1 million second Mega Millions prize has a 1 in 12,607,306 chanceaccording to the game’s official website.

The winning numbers for the November 11, 2022 drawing were 05, 09, 15, 16, 17, with a Mega Ball of 25.

Accardo received a one-time payment of $651,000, after required tax withholdings, for each winning ticket, giving him a total of $1.3 million, according to the New York Lottery.

He bought both tickets at the Bolla 820 Hempstead C-Store, located at 820 Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead.

Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays and tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The cost of tickets is $2 dollars each.
