A 62-year-old man was fatally shot in the head while sitting on a bench in the Bronx on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Robert Brown, of University Heights, was on West Fordham Road and Aqueduct Avenue at around 3 p.m. when two men attempted to rob him, police said.

At one point during the attempted robbery, one of the men opened fire and Brown was hit by a bullet, cops said.
He was rushed to Saint-Barnabé Hospital, where he died.

“It is not known if the property has been removed,” a police spokesperson said.
On Sunday evening, a police officer was looking for surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspects.
