‘New York makes green cigarette legal’ | Abroad

It will be legal for New Yorkers older than 21 to grow their own cannabis plants and shops will also be allowed to sell a joint.

Permits will be issued for all steps in the process – growing weed, processing, distribution and ‘consumption places’. However, there are also penalties: more than three ounces of weed is prohibited, as is more than 24 grams of concentrated cannabis.

With the new law, New York will follow neighboring New Jersey, where the green cigarette was officially legalized last month, and other states.
