The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, announced that they are going to lift all restrictions imposed in the face of the covid-19 pandemicSince 70 percent of the city’s adults have already received at least one dose of a vaccine.
“It is an important milestone and we are going to keep pushing to do more,” he told a conference.
Restrictions in business and social settings will be lifted immediately; however, some limitations stemming from the decisions of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will remain in effect, with mitigation measures still required in public transport and healthcare settings.
He assured that individuals and companies could continue to choose to adopt some precautions.
On Twitter, Andrew Cuomo stated that “we can return to life as we know it “, and detailed that to begin the lifting of restrictions, there will be fireworks across the state, so asked citizens to stay tuned at 9:15 p.m. in New York.
Today is a momentous day, and New Yorkers deserve it because it has been a long, long road.
In honor of the lifting of nearly all COVID restrictions, and in gratitude of our essential workers, we’ll have fireworks across the state to celebrate.
