This has led to the opening of 130 emergency shelters, after the saturation of the city’s shelters and eight humanitarian aid centers. A center was also opened to connect asylum seekers with various resources, register children in schools, to which videos are now added.

Mayor Eric Adams said in a statement that with these videos, immigrants will be better informed to handle the complex immigration issues they face.

“With legal services in short supply and legal providers overwhelmed, this administration is taking a proactive stance to ensure that asylum seekers have the information they need to understand their immigration case and our legal system,” the commissioner said. from the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Manuel Castro.

These videos will be on various social media channels and will be played in emergency shelters, Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers (HERRC) and other locations. EFE
