Federal Defense Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer meets with UN Secretary General Guterres today in New York.
The discussion at the United Nations headquarters will include the Minusma mission in Mali. On Friday, twelve Bundeswehr soldiers were injured in an attack in the North African country. Kramp-Karrenbauer announced a thorough investigation of the events, but rejected criticism of the protection concept for the German soldiers.
Tomorrow the Minister will travel to Washington for bilateral talks with her US colleague Austin and National Security Advisor Sullivan.
Yesterday in Ljubljana, Kramp-Karrenbauer agreed on closer cooperation with Slovenia in the defense sector. The country’s armed forces want to purchase armored transport vehicles from Germany.
