New York judge’s son arrested for assault on Capitol Hill

15 minutes. The son of a prominent New York judge was arrested Tuesday for his participation in the assault on Capitol Hill last week by supporters of outgoing US President Donald Trump.

Aaron Mostofsky was arrested at his brother’s residence in New York City’s Brooklyn, police sources said.

The man is the son of Shlomo Mostofsky, Kings County Supreme Court Justice (Brooklyn) and a well-known figure in New York’s Orthodox Jewish community.

Mostofsky faces several federal charges, including trespassing, public disturbance and theft of government property. In addition, he is expected to appear before a judge this week.

Participation in aggression

The man was pictured inside the Capitol during the assault, dressed in furs, a police bulletproof vest and a riot shield. In reality, his images are among the most published by the media during the episode.

Especially the one where you can see the young man holding the shield and staring at it, while another man walks through the building next to him.

Mostofsky spoke to a New York Post reporter during the attack on the Capitol, assuring that he traveled from New York to Washington to denounce the alleged election fraud Trump had claimed since his election defeat in November .

“They stole from us. I don’t think 75 million people voted for Trump, I think it was close to 85 million, ”he said in a video posted by the newspaper. In this, he assures that some states which traditionally vote Democrat like New York, they went to the Republican side in the last election and were “stolen”.

In recent days, authorities have arrested many people who participated in the unrest at the Capitol and asked for the cooperation of citizens to identify and locate many more.
