The New York Jets parted ways with their head coach Adam Gase after the last day of the regular season in the National Football League (NFL). The Jets started the season with 13 defeats and ended up with two wins in 16 games. “It is clearly the best decision for the Jets to take a new direction,” said chairman Christopher Johnson in a statement on Sunday (local time).
Traditionally, on the Monday after the main round, on “Black Monday”, there are often dismissals of trainers and general managers. Three head coaches, Bill O’Brien (Houston Texans), Dan Quinn (Atlanta Falcons) and Matt Patricia (Detroit Lions), had already been sacked during the season. Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone is also facing off.
