But pull out umbrellas and rain gear for New Years Day when rain is forecast for the New York City area as temperatures stay in the mid-50s.
Monday’s forecast for New York calls for temperatures to drop sharply to below 30 degrees, so get carried away.
Meanwhile, the center of the country is bracing for serious snowfall on New Year’s Eve.
A huge winter storm is about to hit the Midwest and Great Plains as the ball lands in Times Square.
According to AccuWeather meteorologists, snowfall preventing travel is expected in at least 18 states in the central part of the country.
The winter storm struck after more than a foot of snow fell over southern California and passed through the Colorado Rockies.
Slippery road conditions are expected in all of the Plains States, and delays and flight cancellations are expected across the country as planes are grounded for the storm.
More than 1,000 flights have already been canceled in the United States on Friday morning.
