Some Kremlin hardliners are even threatening nuclear attacks. Now New York City wants to prepare its residents for emergencies. An official video from the city explains how to behave in the event of an attack with nuclear weapons.
“There has been a nuclear attack. Don’t ask me how or why. I just want them to know that the great attack has taken place. OK. So what should we do?” The video encourages citizens to follow three “important, simple steps in the event of such an incident.”
“Go inside, stay inside and listen to the announcements about what to do next. If you were outdoors after the explosion, wash up immediately. Remove and pack all outer clothing to keep radioactive dust or ash off your body. “
New Yorkers question the actions of the nuclear disaster video
The usefulness of the video may be questioned, because the video does not explain to what extent these steps should really help. The clip primarily causes uncertainty on the Internet. “What do they know that we don’t?” asks a Twitter user. “After this video I need a therapist,” writes another.
