The relaxed version of Lady Liberty: A second Statue of Liberty has been erected in New York, which is very similar to the original. Another sculpture is in the middle of the city.
The metropolis of New York temporarily has a second Statue of Liberty. The new “Lady Liberty” does not stand with her arm raised in the city harbor like her famous twin sister, but leans on one hand in Morningside Park in the Harlem district in north Manhattan. The more than seven-meter-long statue by US artist Zaq Landsberg should be on view until April 2022.

According to the American portal “Patch”, the artist created a mixture of the Statue of Liberty and the huge reclining Buddha statues from Asia. Interaction with the new statue is expressly encouraged. Spectators should be able to touch it, climb up and sit on it.
Another new statue has recently stood in the middle of Manhattan: the US artist Sanford Biggers placed “Oracle”, an almost eight meter high bronze figure, directly in front of the Rockefeller Center. However, it hardly resembles the original freedom rope and is more of a new interpretation.
